Exhausting weekend

It's been downright tiring lately. Onset of "the change" for a woman is hard enough, but when it wipes you out constantly, you are left with a lot of time you sleep or rest and not a lot of time when you actually accomplish anything, or so it feels. I ended up spending most of my free time yesterday snoozing. In the truck while we were travelling, at home, while waiting in the truck as he ran into a couple of places he needed to go, etc. Seems like I spent most of the day snoozing. It's been a good weekend for it, though.

The weather's been good, the temperatures crisp and the breezes not too bad. No rain expected until later this week, which is fine. In the meantime, afghans are airing out on the line outside for use when it gets a bit chillier. We'll hopefully have a propane heater in before too much longer, so the house will be warm all through, but afghans always come in handy, as you can turn the heat down when you're not home or home only for a little bit, or sleeping, and make the propane last a lot longer. As the heaters are battery-operated for the piezo ignition, even if there's no lights, we'll still have heat, which is a blessing in and of itself.

The girls are getting more and more curious about this box we stay in that seems to be warmer than the outdoors and also smells of other kitties and lots of food. I think before too much longer, they'll either come in on their own or we'll have to dress warm, including heavy gloves, and go outside and grab them. It'll be me scruffing them while they eat, and hubby hurrying out to help grab and carry them inside, hopefully with us not getting mauled too much in the process.

I spent part of the time before work during the week picking up walnuts off the ground here. There are several black walnut trees out by where we park, and they produce rather a lot of nuts, and the hulls dried and broke off easily this year without me having to do anything but wait. So they went with me to the farmer's market yesterday, along with some other things and some crafts, and I did okay. The walnuts (still in the shell) sold quite well. I used a small plastic bowl to scoop them up and sold them for $2.50 a bowlful. I came home with some stuff, but none of the nuts. They all sold out in a couple of hours. People are getting ready for fall baking, and fresh walnuts are welcome.

We rented the newest Transformers movie from the RedBox yesterday for movie night and it was not that good. I really expected better from a Michael Bay movie, but it was really pretty boring. So hubby is off to a few errands this afternoon, I'll probably take another nap, and get a few chores done (put away laundry, dishes, dinner, cat's litter box, and clean out the last of the old frdge in the kitchen - the motor finally went out on it so it's final consolidation into the small fridge in the living room), and then it's back to work tomorrow. Yay, me!
