Quiet Sunday

Because it's sprinkling pretty hard today. I knew it would be rainy - there was a 90% chance of thunderstorms today, according to the weatherman. So far, no t-storms, just sprinkle sprinkle sprinkle. If I hadn't run out the batteries on the camera, I'd have a picture for you of the dogwood just off the deck. It is in full bloom and looks so pretty. But it will still be there tomorrow for a photo, and the batteries will be charged then.

Things are starting to green up, but boy do we need a really good drenching downpour spread out over several days. Basically, we need lots of rain, a bit of drying out, more rain, more drying out, over about a week, in order to get up to the amount of rain we are supposed to have had by now. Depending on where you are in the mid-Missiouri to NW Arkansas area, we are between six and twelve inches shy of needed rainfall to avoid a drought this summer. This is not good, folks. Rain is a needed commodity from Mother Nature, and right now, we are getting shorted badly.

Quentin and I had to go haul some of the landlady's mother's trash here yesterday to get it burned up. JJ was a big help to getting it loaded up. There are reasons for it, which I won't go into here, as they're a bit unnecessary to talk about, but suffice it to say that we brought it here on the trailer, and Quentin spent part of today, when it wasn't raining too badly, burning what he could of it while I got some inside chores done. The boys figure this kind of weather is for snoozing. Bouncer is sprawled on the back of the couch by Quentin (who is now busy watching some TV while I'm busy writing, now that things are done), and Smudge is sprawled near me on the bed on Quentin's side. Half on his back, front feet in the air, and sound asleep. We are talking snoring, folks, and he snores as loud as he purrs, which is pretty loud.

So for me, it's now back to finding some books for y'all, and then doing some more writing. What am I writing now? Another cookbook? Nope. This one is a book of gift basket ideas with some serious specifics, including a lot of Amazon links to suggested items to put in the baskets. Looking up all that stuff takes more time than figuring out the gift basket ideas! Then there are a few ideas I have for some jar mix cookbooks, for various things, so there's those to work on eventually as well. Plus wishlisting all my goodies off my seed order listing to Amazon, along with books I want ... whew. Yeah, you easily could say that even on days when I can't get out much if at all, that I am not loafing around, because there's too much to do and no time to waste. Hugs all, I'm off to find books! (WOW, there look to be a lot of goodies today!)
